Philippine PRC Licensure
Chemical engineer means a person duly registered and a holder of a valid Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card issued by the Board of Chemical Engineering and the Professional Regulation Commission in accordance with Republic Act No. 9267.
Board refers to Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering. It is under the administrative control and supervision of the PRC.
A prescribed licensure examination is required to be passed by all applicants for registration as chemical engineer. Exams is given twice a year by the Board on dates and places as the PRC may prescribe.
Applicants for chemical engineer board examination must have must have the following qualifications:
a. He/she is a citizen of the Philippines.
b. He/she is of good moral character.
c. He/she is a graduate of a school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government and has been conferred the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or its equivalent.
d. He/she has not been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Scope of Chemical Engineer Board Examination
The examination shall include but not limited to:
1. Physical and chemical principles
2. General engineering
3. Chemical engineering
Based on Sec. 19 of Chemical Engineering Law of 2004, an examinee must obtain a general average of no less than seventy per centum (70%) and a rating of no less than fifty per centum (50%) in any examination subject.
Oath of Professional
All successful examinees shall be required to take an Oath of Professional before the Board or any government official authorized by PRC to administer oaths, before entering upon the practice of chemical engineering.
