The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has announced that 35 out of 59 passed the Metallurgical Engineer Board Examination. It was held in August 2005. The licensure exam was given by the Board of Metallurgical Engineering in Manila.

The composition of the Philippine Board of Metallurgical Engineering are chairman: Ralph A. Ante; member: Enrico C. Nera.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 but not later than August 24, 2005. Those who will register are required to bring the following:
a. duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
b. current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
c. 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
d. 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
e. 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession
f. Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2005-2008.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals, prior to the oathtaking ceremonies.

The oathtaking ceremony will be held before the Board on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 6:00 o’clock in the evening at the Sulu Hotel, Matalino Street, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines.

Registration for membership with the Society of Metallurgical Engineers of the Philippines (SMEP) will take place after registration as a professional with the Board and the Commission.
